ResumeOrbitz ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

Account data:

  • Email address and password (hashed, never stored in plain text)

Resume data you provide:

  • Personal information (name, phone, email, location, LinkedIn, website)
  • Work experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, languages
  • Professional summary and cover letters
  • Profile photos (stored in secure cloud storage)

Usage data:

  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and features used within the Service

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the Service (storing and displaying your resumes)
  • To authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • To process AI-powered features (grammar check, content suggestions, cover letter generation)
  • To improve the Service based on usage patterns
  • To send important account-related emails (password reset, security alerts)

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ResumeOrbitz:

Supabase

Used for database storage, authentication, and file storage. Your resume data and account credentials are stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy

Groq

Used to power AI features (resume generation, grammar check, cover letter writing). When you use AI features, relevant portions of your resume content are sent to Groq's API for processing. We do not use your data to train AI models. Groq Privacy Policy

5. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored on secure, encrypted Supabase infrastructure.
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
  • Access to your resume data is restricted by row-level security — only you can read or modify your own data.
  • Profile photos are stored in a secure cloud bucket accessible only via your account.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your resume data and profile photos will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Cover letter data stored locally in your browser will be cleared when you clear your browser storage.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — update or correct your personal information at any time from within the app.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Portability — export your resume data at any time using the PDF export feature.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and local storage solely to maintain your login session and save your preferences (e.g. dark mode, template customizations). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice within the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
